About This Video:
Chess Rating Climb video for 800-1000 rating range. This is a chess speedrun where I try to improve my rating and play against higher and higher rated players. I explain my thoughts and why I make certain moves. This will help you improve as a chess player.

game 2 was rly to my liking ui absolutely destroyed that poor clown
Good to know your thought process. Subbed
Sorry for being late
Thank you!
When we did the rating climb we contacted chess.com and told them that the account that was opened was for streaming so when the account is closed everyone gets their points back. If you wanted an old fashioned rating climb. Just an idea. Good video again Nelson.
Man i m stuck in the 1250 -1350 range . I have hit the wall. I just hope you release a video for that quickly before i break my phone out of rage of losing more games.
nelson does chess need talent? because many haven't got the title of GM (like me) in modern times, in the past like Bobby Fischer (2700 rating) Prodigy, do we need talent?
Awesome video!!c
Just discovered your channel today. Great stuff! Master vs. amateur, great way for us to learn.
Great! I have learnt alot form your channel till now, increased my rating points +100 in a week, soon Will be a good chess player,… A question how much time it takes for a good beginner to good amateur (1600 likely) ? I am playing 10 rapid games daily and doing 30+ (however somtimes 60 to 80 too) tactics daily, will it work …and yeah thanks alot 🙂
Just started watching your videos. Very instructive and its great that you analyzed your game. It really shows me how I should analyze mine
really nice video, I was thinking that maybe your opponents are influenced also by looking at your ELO.
Today I realised that I have found a channel best of all! Really cool stuff posted in this channel. Learnt many things from your videos, Nelson! Looking forward for many more great chess videos 😉
This is exactly the chess content I've been needing. You're a good teacher
At 13:25 why did he take with rook and not the knight ? Anyone know ?
Enjoying these rating climbs. Thanks!👍🏻
Great video from a great teacher. If u play this video at 1.25x it’s great too
This is very helpful i heen stuck at 800+ and then going down again sucks
Great video! Glad I found your channel 🤝
I don’t believe this video only got 176 likes. This is the best chess teaching video I have ever seen. I really try to watch all your videos. Thanks a million.
Hey Nelson, great Video, I just found your Channel and Love it! At 5:00, what is the reason for not taking the pawn on g2, trapping the white rook on h1. I don‘t see how white could defend or punish that. Just curious if taking the bishop is better or not, I‘m still learning ^^
I really like the thought process and the fact that we are focusing on fundamentals against opponents with weird openings like a real game. I appreciate that you made a mistake and showed how you recover from that
Great, very useful video. Please, do more videos. I am new player, your YouTube channel helps me a lot. Thank you very much!
Great lessons, Thank you Nelson
Excellent teacher. Shows us the thinking/decision process in plain language with general concepts along the way. Thanks, Nelson!
You have a simple and effective way of explaining things. I will learn much from you.
Great videos, explaining thought process and principles off the top of your head while playing is fantastic. You mention the value of analyzing games – do you have a video that gives an overview how to use the analysis tool?
Nelson you make it look so simple, I wish I could play like that, but your videos help a lot! Thanks
this video turned out to be useful. I'm in 800-1000. thanks
Wonderful videos, you have taught me a lot and you have a beautiful demeanor. Question, at 41:46 did you make a mistake moving the bishop, could he not have just captured the pawn you had been defending with his queen?
Will you do a video on how to study our game analyses?
Also. At the end of the secon game, what did you write to him?😁
great video, you're a really gifted instructor and player! I'm learning a lot from you. thanks so much
14:00 what about bishop f3
lmfao wtf is this
Hey, what do you bet these 800ish rated players love to be instructional tools on how to get beat up on…..
Thanks for the content, love your style.
making me anxious watching the timer and seeing how long u take to explain each move
Game 2, that's what I was talking about, you take your opponent off the beaten path where even under 1000 players can get the upper hand against masters for a time at least. That's the lesson from this game, checks captures and threats applies to the opening as well 🙂
13:12 is white blundered? does bf3 has any problem?
not a fair game, ratings are too much different
Only a few minutes in and I'm getting a ton of good information. Thanks!
